David Rankin 'The Blue Bay VIII' warm tones including at the Art GalleryFrom one of Australia s esteemed artists, this original screenprint evokes the dynamism of the ocean. In a swirl of colour and shape, it calls forth the water s force, while evading literalness. This ability to suspend allusion and subject is core to Rankin s talent. Inspired by Eastern and Indigenous philosophies, his work unearths the metaphysical in the physical. Rankin is represented at the Art Gallery of New South Wales and the National Gallery
