Wear to dust jacket includes minor edge wear and browning as well as light fading to spine and one small chip to foot of spine

and light damp stain to the top edge of several pages of both volumes

Minor damp staining to bottom margin of first and last few pages which does not effect the contents

Cracks to both hinges with front board only attached by one thread

Wear to exterior includes minor rolling to spine, light soiling, minor bumping to spine ends and corners, light bowing to front board, and rubbing. Gilt on front board and spine has mostly faded to yellow. Beautifully written gift inscription to second front free end paper. Light age toning and sporadic foxing to margins throughout. Else is clean and bright with illustrations throughout.
